Why and How to Drink More Water

When we were young our mother used to say we must drink water after dinner instead of getting more food if we didn’t feel full. I used to be annoyed at this but now that I’m older I get why she was saying that. Water is a vital element of a healthy diet. I used to hardly drink any water but having to loose weight has forced me to drink more of it. Not only does it help to get me full but it also flushes out toxins out of my body. Drinking water throughout the day also takes away the opportunity and eventually the desire to drink unhealthy drinks like soda. I find it also suppresses my appetite, I suppose because I feel full most of the time when I drink more of it than when I don’t.

 

I try to drink 4 litres of water a day; 1 litre when I wake up, 1 litre before lunch time, 1 litre when I’m at the gym and 1 litre before I go to bed. Now I don’t always reach my water intake goal everyday but I try because I just feel off when I don’t. You can jazz up your water by infusing it with some fruit but I prefer to have it plain. You should find your own way of getting a good amount of water in per day.
