I try to have as little to no sugar as possible but I came across the Clicks Smartbite Foods Coconut Sugar and I was really interested to try it as a healthier substitute for normal sugar. Coconut sugar is also known as coconut palm sugar. It is a natural sugar made from sap, which is extracted from the coconut plant. The taste of it is similar to brown sugar, making it a great substitute for white and brown sugar. It can also be used in cooking and baking.
I add 1 or 2 teaspoons of it to my coffee or whatever hot drinks I am having to make it more sweeter. It did not make my drinks taste sweet enough the first couple of time I used it but I can pick up the sweetness more now that I have been having it for some time. I love that it does not have a weird taste or an after taste.
Now I do not recommend that you have coconut sugar everyday, in fact I won’t repurchase the pack I currently have once it is finished, because it is still sugar. It is processed better and it might be better than normal sugar but excessive consumption might still hinder my weight loss progress. I just wanted to try it so I can know how it is and you can do the same if you wish to, just have it in small quantities.
