How I Make Matcha Tea

Matcha tea has been on-trend for some time now when it comes to healthy food trends. Matcha is made from pure green tea leaves that have been stone ground into a fine powder. It has powerful antioxidants and amino acids that help boost immunity, energy and concentration (I need that!).  It also has a calming effect (I need that too!). I have had matcha teas or lattes in restaurants but I was soo excited to see that @Home sells the Red Espresso Green Tea Matcha Latte Super Mix and I picked it up.

I add 1 teaspoon of the powder in a cup, add hot water, stir well and top with heated low fat milk. Make sure that the water is very hot and that you stir it well so that the powder dissolves well because it does tend to settle to the bottom of the cup if not. This matcha latte has organic coconut blossom sugar so you do not need to add sugar to it. I do find it a bit sweet but you can add a bit of honey if you prefer is a bit sweeter but do not add too much of it. You can also cool it down and have it with ice. I like to have a cup maybe once a week just because I purchased a small sachet and I drink normal green tea everyday so my green tea intake is quite good anyway.

I love this tea a lot and I can even add it to smoothies, breakfast bowls and when baking. It does not taste bitter like normal green tea does which makes it a lot more drinkable. I appreciate that its vegan friendly and GMO free. It also does not contain any preservatives, flavourants and additives.
