Healthy Snacks to Try

Healthy Snacks to Try

Snacking in-between your meals is sometimes necessary to keep you full but a lot of the snacks that are available tend to be very unhealthy. I have been looking around and trying healthier types of snacks and here are a few that I really love:

Smartbite Rice Pops: These pop chips come in a variety of flavours and the salt and vinegar flavour is one of my favourites. They taste really amazing and not artificial. This pack has 388kj.

KJ Controlled Lentil & Quinoa Pop Chips: I love these pop chips as well. All of the flavours are really delicious including this BBQ flavour. They have no MSG added and they are a good source of fibre. This pack has 341kj.

Nakd Bars: I do not usually eat health bars because most of the ones that I have tried before have a weird aftertaste but I actually enjoyed this Nakd Bar in the cocoa delight flavour.  This bar is cold-pressed and has no added sugar, syrup, dairy, wheat or gluten. This bar has 567kj.

FitChef Nurish Fruit and Vegetable Juices: I try to not drink a lot of fruit juice because most of them are actually very high in sugar. FitChef Nurish Fruit and Vegetable Juices are a healthy alternate to regular fruit juices which I am really excited about. I tried the Bright I juice which has carrot juice (52%), apple juice (38%), lemon juice (8%), lime juice (2%) and the Ignite juice which has pineapple juice (44%), apple juice (31%), beetroot (17%), Ginger (3%), lemon juice (3%), cinnamon. These juices are soo delicious and refreshing. You buy them frozen and you can store them in your freezer for up to 5 months. You can purchase them at Discherm stores and on fitchef.co.za. These juices are quite expensive considering the amount you get in each bottle but then again quality comes at a price doesn’t it. The Bright I juice has 501kj and the Ignite juice has 450kj.

Snacking is not bad as long as your snacks are healthy and you control the amount that you have in a day. It would be good to know how much kj you need to eat in a day so that you can fit them in to that amount. I am very happy to know that there are companies who are creating healthy snacking options for people to incorporate into their healthy lifestyles.
