September is my favorite month because it is my birthday month. September is also Tourism and Heritage Month which makes it even more special as we are reminded of how beautiful our country is. There are a few places that I would love to travel to and London is on the top of my list. From the architecture to the fashion, there is something so inspiring about the city and I cannot wait to experience it. You can find flights to London on Travelstart which makes travelling there more possible than I thought. How exciting would it be to just relocate to London! I can just imagine the incredible experience and opportunities it has to offer (you should see the smile on my face right now). Though there are many amazing places to live around the world, there is no place like home. Here are a few things that I love and I would miss about South Africa if I were to relocate to London:
The Food: There is a new restaurant on Steve Biko Road in Arcadia, Pretoria, called the Braai Block and they serve the most delicious and fresh braaied meat and side dishes like pap and chakalaka. Where else besides SA can you get such amazing authentic Africa food? I recommend that you pass by the Braai Block and grab yourself a perfectly seasoned short rib.
My Family: Most of my family is spread out in different areas of the country but it is comforting to know that they are a few hours away. I cherish my relationship with each and every one of them and I am soo thankful for their contribution to my life. I have also built amazing relationships with people that I now consider family and a week without seeing them is just too long. I cannot imagine being soo far away from them if I were to move overseas and a phone call just will not do.
The Weather: The Festive Season is almost here and the thought of a Winter Christmas that Londoners enjoy seems soo dreamy but I have to admit that I am very excited to enjoy a summery Festive Season. I can just imagine myself in a stunning flowy dress and enjoying a feast outdoors.
Our Diverse Cultures: It is amazing how many diverse cultures and languages we have in South Africa. We all have our differences but we have a lot to learn from each other. There is nothing cooler than walking down the street and greeting someone in your own language with an almost complete assurance that they will understand and respond to you.
Our Home: My husband and I have owned our flat for almost three years now and we have worked very hard to make it a home. It is soo amazing to have a place that we can call ours and it would be sad to leave it all behind.
What would you miss the most about South Africa if you had to relocate to London or to another place in the world? Please also comment on your social media platforms and tag @Travelstart. Have a wonderful September.
