Hydration Fit for Winter

Hydration Fit for Winter

The Winter season is basically here and this is the time when hydrating lotions, moisturisers and balms become very important to have in your overall skincare routine. Here are 2 products that I have recently included into my routine that I think are perfect for the Winter season:

Hand cream are always a must for me and I always have 2 at a time; one in my handbag and one on my beside table for whenever my hands get a bit dry. I have been enjoying the Avene Eau Thermale Cicalfate Repairing Barrier Cream for the hands as it provides enough hydration to my hands but it does not feel heavy of sticky.  It almost feels like a burst of water going into my skin because of the thermal spring water that is in it. It sinks right into my skin and leave them feeling soft. It is formulated to protect and repair very dry, irritated hands from external aggressions which is essential in this season. This Cream has antibacterial agents, is fragrance-free and paraben-free.

I have also finally tried the legendary Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and I must say I understand why it is soo loved. It is called a cream but is has a balm texture which has been amazing at treating my chapped lips especially at night. It provides long lasting moisturization to my lips and leaves them looking glossy. I love how thick it is but is melts into my lips beautifully. I must say though that it has a strong almost medicinal smell. I have gotten used to it by now so it does not bother me too much. It does not linger for too long which is good, but I have just realised that they have a fragrance-free version which I will be trying out some time later. It can also be used on peeling or flaking skin, sun burn, scrapes, soothe dry hands, smooth cuticles and nails and to soothe irritation. It can even be used to set eyebrows which is amazing. This product is a real multi-tasker. This is the most expensive lip balm I have ever purchased but it is worth the price. This has a firm spot in my bedside table for whenever I need it.
